EMCOR Group, Inc. Awarded Facilities Services Contract For Hubert H. Humphrey Building

NORWALK, CONNECTICUT, August, 21, 2008 - EMCOR Group, Inc. (NYSE: EME), a Fortune 500® leader in mechanical and electrical construction, energy infrastructure and facilities services for a diverse range of businesses, announced that its EMCOR Government Services unit was awarded a contract that commenced June 1, 2008 to provide facilities services at the Hubert H. Humphrey Building in Washington, D.C. The contract, which is for an initial period of nine months with the option of the U.S. government to extend it for four successive one-year periods, would have a total value to EMCOR Government Services of $15.5 million.

 

EMCOR Government Services is responsible for a wide range of services at the 876,000 square foot Hubert Humphrey Building, including operations and maintenance, janitorial, and grounds maintenance. The contract is being serviced by 16 full time employees and up to 4 part time employees. Named in 1977 for former U.S. Vice President Hubert Humphrey, the eight-story facility has served as the headquarters for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services since 1975.
