U.S. Navy, Washington Navy Yard

24/7 BOS Services for 80 Buildings Across More than 8 Million Square Feet

From 2010 to 2020, EGS provided Base Operations Support (BOS) and Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) services for the U.S. Navy’s Washington Navy Yard. Across the approximately 8.5-million-square-foot facility, our scope of work covered more than 80 buildings and preventive maintenance for 6,400 pieces of equipment, which on average accounted for 4,500 service orders each year.

To fulfill our IDIQ contract, we maintained a flexible, adaptable scope of work as needed. This included assisting virtually every Navy installation within 100 miles of the Navy Yard for services in a range of complexities, from simple repairs to challenging tenant build-outs to ground-up design-build projects.

Over the course of our contract with the Navy Yard, EGS demonstrated the value of working with our team, helping increase efficiencies across the facility, solving a number of complex maintenance challenges, and providing crucial 24-hour emergency support.

Defense Intelligence Analysis Center (DIAC)

Mission-Critical Support for Some of the Country’s Top National Security Operatives

EGS provided facilities management, operation, maintenance, and repair for the Defense Intelligence Analysis Center (DIAC). The 1.5-million-square-foot secure facility is the headquarters of the Defense Intelligence Agency and houses some of the top decision makers in the intelligence community and Department of Defense.

Along with operations and maintenance, the expansive scope of work included janitorial service, landscaping and grounds upkeep, street sweeping, snow removal, pest control, refuse collection and recycling, and a variety of construction services. EGS helped keep the mission-critical equipment, systems, and structures necessary for the building’s function running optimally, supporting the DIAC’s vital 24/7 national security operations.
